Quelle chance!
Lucky me!

I am an antiquarian bookdealer so I found many things in old books, and also, of course, leaves... It's not the first time I find a four-leaf clover, but it's always a pleasure because it reminds me of nice memories... And I also said to myself that I was going to take pics of it... But looking again in the book I found another one! And looking at it more carefully, I saw that it was not a four-leaf clover, but a FIVE-LEAF clover!!! This I admit is the first time I ever found one! Look carefully, on the bottom pic, the clover leaf really have five leaves. Two of them are almost completely superposed, but I looked and they are two different leaves. Because the clover leaf is dry, it's too dangerous to try to just separate them a little bit more.

Clo, I can't tell you how soulful both of these pics are! I just showed them to Donica. Nicholas and I have recently been looking for 4-leafed clovers. The day we find one, everyone will know! But finding these in antique books from however long ago is PURE JOY! Don't you wonder what they meant to the person who put them there!

In fact, in my bookshop, I don't have just very old books, and those where in a book about American art published in the '70... not so old as you can see! But you are right, I always wonder about the ancient owner.

I have one four-leaf clover that I have found in an older book... I'll try to take a pic of it today and show you, it's a little bit special.

And I sincerely hope you and Nicholas will find one! Sounds strange to me because when I usually decide to look for them, I always find one, and sometimes more than one! ...but that's for my next post... Hee, hee!
:O)

Incredible! I didn't know there were five-leaf clovers. That top photo is so beautiful, such nice complimentary colors. And the bottom one is great for the sillhouette.
